** A green paradise in the middle of Berlin! ** The long-awaited opening of the newly designed green area in Küstriner Straße 11-14, 13055 Berlin-Hohenschönhausen, is finally a reality! On Thursday, November 7, 2024 , the district councilor Filiz Küllüoğlu from Bündnis 90/The Greens celebrated the reopening of this fantastic area together with citizens and the hardworking hands of the street and green space office, the construction company Horst Kruse & Sohn. A real highlight between Reichenberger- and Strausberger Straße!

** The new green area - a place for relaxation and encounter! ** The redesign of the area is a real success and brings a breath of fresh air to Hohenschönhausen. With a new path connection and a renewed place in front of the cenotaph, the facility is now a retreat for young and old. ** Over 2,500 snowdrops and crocuses ** have been planted for the coming spring season - this will be a sea of ​​colors! In addition, ** 27 brand new amber trees ** The visitors who are already waiting to bloom in full splendor.

** Eight new parking benches ** invite you to linger, some of them with armrests and barrier -free. Thanks to the spacious banking bags made of cut granite plaster, people with walking aids and wheelchairs can also use the system comfortably. The sealing of 160 m² area in the root area of ​​the street trees leaves more space for the growth of nature. The previous concrete slab sidewalk was removed to give the trees more development options, while existing large stone pavement was reused from previous construction work. So nature remains in harmony with modern needs!

** A project with investments for the future! ** With a total of 450,000 € , the Lichtenberg district office has invested in this green project.
