On March 8, the International Women's Day, Thais Vera Utrilla was awarded the Lichtenberg Women's Prize 2024 for her commitment to the feminist center for migrants (FZM* e.V.). The FZM* offers a safe space in Heinrichstrasse 20c in Berlin for encounter, exchange and support. Under the direction of Thais Vera Utrilla, the association of the association is artistically working on the topics of transformation, trauma, resistance and biography. District Mayor Martin Schaefer emphasized the importance of equality between women and girls as well as the need to act against discrimination and violence. The district councilors Camilla Schuler, Dr. Catrin Gocksch and Filiz Küllüoğlu praised Thais Vera Utrilla for their commitment and campaign against racism and sexism.

The Lichtenberg Women's Prize is endowed with 1000 euros and a sculpture, and was awarded on March 7, 2024 as part of the closing event of women*week in Lichtenberg, in the Kulturhaus Karlshorst. Further information on the FZM* and its projects can be found on the website of the association.
