BVV Lichtenberg: meeting on June 20, 2024 canceled

The session of the district council (BVV) Lichtenberg, planned for June 20, 2024, was canceled due to personnel bottlenecks in the BVV office. This was decided after consultation with the board, all factions represented in the BVV and the district office. The head of BVV Lichtenberg, Gregor Hoffmann (CDU), regretted the situation and emphasizes the importance of BVV sessions as the basic pillar of parliamentary democracy. Despite the cancellation of the BVV meeting, the meetings of the specialist committees should continue to take place as planned. Citizens with concerns can contact the public committees.

Due to the problem, a solution for the BVV offices is being worked on across districts, since not only BVV Lichtenberg is affected. The next meeting of the Lichtenberg district assembly is scheduled for Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in Max-Taut-Aula at Fischerstraße 36, 10317 Berlin. People who need further information can contact the head of BVV Lichtenberg, Gregor Hoffmann, on 0173/2364724

It is important that the BVV sessions take place in order to maintain the democratic processes at the local level. However, the cancellation of the session shows the challenges with which municipal authorities can be confronted. It is encouraging to see that a solution for personnel bottlenecks is being worked on to avoid future interruptions.

In the following table, information on the planned meeting of BVV Lichtenberg is listed:

| Date | Time | Location |
| ——————— | —————————- |
| July 11, 2024 | 17:00 | Max-Taut-Aula |
| | | Fischerstraße 36 |

It remains to be seen how the situation will be solved and whether future BVV meetings will be more smooth. The citizens of Lichtenberg can rely on the fact that their concerns and interests will continue to be represented in the democratic processes of BVV.
