Last generation: New course for climate protests announced
Last generation: New course for climate protests announced
As a citizen of Berlin, I welcome the decision of the climate activists from the last generation to avert road blocks and instead plan other forms of the protest. This new strategy to keep demonstrations in places of "fossil destruction" and to confront politicians could have a positive impact on public opinion and climate protection as a whole.
in Berlin and the surrounding area there are several places affected by fossil fuels, such as the coal -fired power plant in black pumps or the oil pipelines in the region. The decision of the climate activists to shift their protests to these places could contribute to the sensitization of the public and put political pressure on those responsible.
In the past, street blocks, as carried out by the last generation, have led to considerable volume of traffic and inconvenience for the Berlin population. The change to another approach could therefore help to better convey the concerns of climate protection and to create a broader understanding of the population. It is important to emphasize that peaceful protests and the right to freedom of expression must continue to be preserved. If the last generation carries out your new forms of protest without violence and without coercion of third parties, this can be a great opportunity to positively fill climate protection in Germany again.
In the following I have put together a table with relevant information on the locations mentioned in Berlin and the surrounding area:
| Location | Type of fossil destruction |
| ——————- | ———————————— |
| Black pump | Coal -fired power plant |
| Surroundings Berlin | Oil pipelines |
The decision of the last generation to seek new ways of protest could lead to a new dynamic in the climate movement and focus on climate protection in Germany again. As a Berlin citizen, I hope that this new strategy will make positive changes and lead to a constructive dialogue between activists, politics and society.
