second chance for a powerful Europe

A new chapter begins for the European Commission. After successfully re -election by the Commission President, there is the opportunity to further strengthen Europe's performance. The quick agreement of the EU parliamentarians signals stability at the European level and opens up new perspectives.

dr. Dirk Jandura, President of the Federal Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade, Services (BGA), congratulates the Commission President and emphasizes the importance of this second opportunity. For many medium -sized companies, Ms. von der Leyen's long term was a disappointment. They want more market economy and less small -scale regulations.

In particular, the rigid adherence to the Green Deal during the previous term has led to an excess of regulations and reporting obligations. As a result, the responsibility was passed on by the state to the companies, which does not benefit the location. The companies are convinced that the many regulations do not lead to more sustainability, but to lower competitiveness.

In view of the uncertainties with the main trading partners, it is urgently needed to make the supply chains more resilient. The world is increasingly moving towards the trade barrier and foreclosure. In order to counteract this trend, free trade agreements should be the focus of the next legislative period. Free trade is particularly vital for Germany. Therefore, opportunities should be created in new markets such as South America, Asia or Africa in order to reduce dependence on the main trading partners.

The re -election of the Commission President thus opens up the chance to correct the previous mistakes and establish a powerful European Commission. The companies are optimistic and hope for constructive cooperation that strengthens the business location of Europe and ensures more market economy and less over -regulating regulations.

The way to a powerful Europe is now in the hands of the Commission. It is time to tackle the construction sites and further expand European stability. The second chance has come, we don't let it pass unused.
