The University of Münster opens the impressive exhibition «body on Friday at 6 p.m. Cult. Religion. Perspectives from antiquity to the present ». This extraordinary show, which will be shown in the Archaeological Museum and Bible Museum until February 26, 2025, presents fascinating loans from renowned institutions such as the Louvre in Paris and the State Museums in Berlin. Under the direction of Angelika Lohwasser, coordinator of the theme year "Body and Religion", the human body is illuminated as an expression of religious ideas.
The exhibits that include an antique statue of the Roman God Hermaphroditos and a unique nail fetish from the Congo are particularly remarkable. This show is a result of interdisciplinary cooperation of various scientific areas, from age research to Judaistics to ethnology.
