Jordan supports the USA and Israel: drone shot down
In the night of Sunday, Jordan also participated in the defense against Iranian drones that Jerusalem had as a potential goal. According to reports, Jordanian fighter jets managed to intercept dozens of drones near the Iraqi-Syrian border. The Jordan government confirmed this incident and explained that the shot objects had penetrated into the Jordanian airspace without leaving any damage or injuries.
Iran reacted to Jordan's action with a warning of interference into conflict and threatened Jordan with the fact that it could be the next goal. Despite these threats, Jordan had previously announced to shoot drones that violated the country's airspace. For security reasons, Jordan had closed the airspace late on Saturday evening and only reopened after ten hours on Sunday morning.
The decision of Jordania to face Iran and also against direct Arabic countries such as Syria was described in the "Jerusalem Post" as remarkable. This clarifies the transformation of Jordan from the enemy to the ally, in particular against the background of the peace treaty with Israel, which was signed in 1995. Before this contract, Jordan was considered a military opponent of Israel for decades.
