Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu & the escalation in the Gaza Strip: Background & Effects

The Easter symbolizes hope for a better world and is celebrated by Christians as the resurrection of Jesus. People without a religious relationship also have the desire for peace and therefore take to the streets of Easter marches to end the wars in the Gaza Strip and in Ukraine through negotiations. However, the Middle East of such a scenario is still far away.

Before the Gaza war started, a bestial terrorist attack by Islamist Hamas occurred on October 7, which provoked an extreme reaction from Israel. The extremists accepted the suffering of the Palestinian civilian population and strived for a regional escalation, which is considered cynical, nefarious and criminal.

Nevertheless, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has maneuvered himself in a dead end with his blind war course in the Gaza Strip. The pictures of people who lived in the ruins of their destroyed life and had little to eat must not be dismissed as "collateral damage".

Netanyahu got into the pliers of his right -wing extremists and ultra -orthodox coalition partners. They not only strive for the annihilation of Hamas, but also dream of a "grandiSrael" with annexation of the West Bank and the Jewish resettlement of the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu does not have to implement these claims one to one, but pursues a hard policy towards the Palestinians to satisfy its radical cabinet members. This is also about favors.
