Historical financial gap in the SHI: AOK boss demands health policy turn

alarm level red for statutory health insurance! A dramatic financial imbalance threatens to endanger the health care of citizens! Dr. Carola Reimann, the charismatic CEO of the AOK Federal Association, is on the timpani in her latest statement: The estimation results for the coming year show that the distance between income and expenditure has not been as gigantic as it has been for years! It will be a real financial nightmare!

Unfortunately, the good news is not the only thing that is at stake - on the contrary! The obligation to increase the additional contribution, which is now to increase from 1.7 percent to a horrendous 2.5 percent, is a slap in the face for all contributors. This historical increase is not a coincidence, but the result of insufficient cost forecast and legislation that provides healing measures with an expensive price tag.

a socio -political scandal!

But Reimann doesn't stop here: she doesn't leave good hair in politics and speaks of a socio -political scandal! Because the entire financial dilemma only seems to be burdened with the contribution payers, while the federal responsibility for the financing of the health costs of civil allowance recipients is simply ignored. "Employers and contributors have to finance the debt brake - that must not be!" she calls out outraged.

Instead, there are empty promises: the Minister of Health, who actually promised the stability of the financial situation of statutory health insurance, bravely speaks of 'de -economicization'. But where is the necessary health -economic discipline? Reimann makes it unequivocally clear that the principles of regulatory policy and socio -political orientation have been left behind.

nobody should close their eyes!

at a time when nothing is not reprehensible in economy, Reimann loudly demands: "We need more health -economic discipline again! Possession takes the width anger over medical care, the stability of which is on knife cutting edge. It is high time to pull the rudder around and change the course before the situation becomes unsustainable!

The warning signals have arrived. Every word of Dr. Reimann could give the decisive impetus for the urgently needed change. Now it is time to hold the responsible actors accountable - for a sustainable and solid future of our health care!

Berlin, ready for the storm that is going on!
