But that's not all - on October 15th is the international day of the White Stock! This important day was launched by the US Congress in 1964 and is now a worldwide day of action that draws attention to the interests of blind people. Who would have thought that the then President Lyndon B. Johnson triggered a real movement with his proclamation?
In Germany, this campaign day in 2002 was founded as the end of the week of vision, which this year is under the motto "clearly see". This whole week from October 8th to October 15th is worn by well-known organizations such as the Christoffel blind mission and the DBSV.
Clarity, education and independence - these are the key points of this initiative, supported by Aktion Mensch. Further exciting information can be found at www.woche-des-sehens.de .
