Hessen calls for a minimum storage period for IP addresses to combat serious crime
Hessen today presented a Federal Council initiative to introduce a minimum storage period of IP addresses for combating serious crime. This initiative receives support from the legal policy spokesman for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, Günter Krings. He considers a memory obligation for IP addresses for a month to combat serious crime for an acceptable compromise. According to the Federal Criminal Police Office, many serious crimes could be informed.
The interior ministers' conference of the federal states also urged the storage of IP addresses and port numbers to combat child abuse this week. The agreement of the traffic light government on the Quick-Freeze procedure, in which connecting data is frozen in the event of suspicion of serious crimes, is considered contradictory by the countries to the uniform technical assessment.
The CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag represents the People's Parties of the Middle and, based on the Christian image of man, is committed to a strong, free-democratic constitutional state, a social and ecological market economy, integration into the western community of value and the agreement.
There are many historical facts that could be relevant in this context, such as the emergence of German data protection law after the Second World War or the development of the powers of the security authorities in Germany since the 2001 terrorist attacks.
A table could contain information such as: Number of enlightened cases of serious crime through IP address storage, number of companies in Hesse, etc. This would show readers an overview of the specific effects of the planned measures.
