According to the latest figures from the Federal Statistical Office, both city -states have the highest proportion of academics in Germany - impressive 32 percent of the population have an academic conclusion. At the city level, Munich leads with astonishing 41 percent, followed by Erlangen (40 percent) and Heidelberg (39 percent). These statistics illustrate a significant difference to the nationwide average of only 20 percent, as recorded on May 15, 2022. The academic quota includes degrees such as Bachelor, Master, diploma and doctorate.
