Strong together: cultural dialogues for a healthy work environment

In today's working world, it is anything but easy to bind talented specialists in the long term. But what is behind this challenge? The answer is simple: a strong emotional bond of employees to the company is crucial! An excellent working atmosphere and a safe, healthy working environment are the keys to this success.

But how do companies achieve this goal? The answer is: cultural dialogue - prevention! This innovative instrument of statutory accident insurance offers companies a unique opportunity to take a closer look at their own company culture. It helps executives and employees to work together to actively promote safety and health at work.

The four steps to success

dr. Marlen Cosmar from the Institute for Labor and Health of the DGUV (IAG) explains how smaller companies can easily improve the working atmosphere with the cultural dialogues. In just four simple steps, the foundation stone is laid for a positive change:

  1. Select the topic and set the rules of cooperation.
  2. Watch the explanatory film on the 5-stage model and discuss dialog cards.
  3. Find and enter your own examples from everyday work.
  4. develop first solution ideas.
  5. These four steps lead to the parties involved in analyzing six central fields of action: leadership, communication, participation, working atmosphere, error culture as well as security and safety. The goal? Developing a common understanding of the operating culture and strengthening cooperation - because this is the only way to benefit from a safer and healthier one!
