Safe bike paths in Friedrichshain: New bicycle road from November
In the pulsating district of Friedrichshain, something big for all cyclists is happening! A new bicycle road will be opened here from November, which is already being used by many. This stunning north-south route not only becomes safer, but also enlarges the bicycle traffic network by a proud 300 meters. A real reason to joy for everyone who is on the road environmentally friendly!
At the beginning, the construction work between Revaler Straße and Simplonstraße concentrates. But that's not all - in the next phase, Gärtnerstraße will be rebuilt from Simplonstrasse to Wühlischstraße. Here cyclists will get to the destination more safely and faster in the future!
safe roads through clever traffic management
In order to reduce the annoying through traffic of the cars, opposing one -way streets are also set up. This is part of a comprehensive traffic calming concept for the Ostkreuz-Kiez. From now on, drivers can only drive the Modersohnstrasse south. In the future, Gärtnerstrasse will only be accessible from Simplonstrasse to the north, while bicycle traffic can drive in both directions. Security is going on!
"With the establishment of the bicycle road in Modersohnstrasse, we are implementing another important step for our cycling network. More security for cyclists at the same time means a higher quality of life for those resident and everyone who moves in this green neighborhood," emphasizes Annika Gerold, the district councilor for transport, green spaces, order and environment .
federal funding for better cooperation
And the best? The impressive renovation measures are financially supported with funds from the special program of the federal government. Another proof that improvement in the quality of life comes first for all residents!
Interested parties can download the full traffic sign plan on the project page and are already looking forward to the changes. The future of bicycle traffic is here - come along!
