Inclusion and community through sport: a renowned meeting point in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg
The upcoming inclusion week in Berlin 2024 is all about promoting diversity and community through sport. An outstanding example of this is the planned inclusion sports festival, which will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the sports grounds of TIB 1848 e.V. in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district.
On this day, not only sport is celebrated, but also the idea that everyone, regardless of their physical or mental skills, should have the opportunity to actively participate in social life. The aim of the event is to reduce barriers and create an inclusive environment that promotes respectful interaction with each other.
"Sport combines and strengthens the sense of community," emphasizes Andy Hehmke, the district councilor for school, sports and facility management. His commitment to inclusion in sport is tireless and shows how important a discriminatory participation is. Inclusion not only means to just let someone participate, but also to actively celebrate the diversity and to stand up for harmonious coexistence.
This significant event is supported by important partners such as the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg sports funding, the State Sports Association Berlin and the SPORT & INCLULION network. This cooperation shows that numerous players from the sports area are committed to creating an integrative and open sports culture.
The inclusion sports festival is an opportunity to exchange ideas and talk about the challenges and success of anti -discrimination work in organized sport. The event will be a meeting point for athletes, coaches and interested parties who want to campaign for a respectful and integrative coexistence.
Such initiatives make an important sign for the entire district: sport is there for everyone! Not only propagating this, but actively living, is the public goal of this event.
Further information and details about the event are available, and interested parties are encouraged to actively participate and look for the exchange.
