Dreamer's poetry festival opens goals for self-discovery

Bezirksbürgermeisterin Clara Herrmann hat bekannt gegeben, dass das Ausstellungs-, Performance- und Bildungsprojekt „Wor(l)ding Dreamers“ mit dem zweitägigen Dreamers Poesie-Festival eröffnet wird. Dieses Projekt erforscht das transformative Potenzial von Träumen, indem es Poesie, Musik und Architektur vereint. Es basiert auf den revolutionären Denkansätzen Schwarzer Bewegungen, die Ruhe und Träume als entscheidende Wege zur Selbstfindung, kollektiven Befreiung und Neuausrichtung gesellschaftlicher Normen betrachten. Die Ausstellung präsentiert spekulative Werke von neunzehn Dichter*innen, die größtenteils in Berlin leben. District Mayor Clara Herrmann has announced that the exhibition, performance and educational project "What (L) thing Dreamers" is opened with the two-day Dreamer's poetry festival. This project researches the transformative potential of dreams by combining poetry, music and architecture. It is based on the revolutionary approaches of black movements, which consider calm and dreams as crucial ways to find self -discovery, collective liberation and realignment of social norms. The exhibition presents speculative works by nineteen poets, most of whom live in Berlin. Dreamer's poetry festival opens goals for self-discovery

District Mayor Clara Herrmann has announced that the exhibition, performance and educational project "What (L) During Dreamers" is opened with the two-day Dreamers Poetie Festival. This project researches the transformative potential of dreams by combining poetry, music and architecture. It is based on the revolutionary approaches of black movements that consider calm and dreams as crucial ways to find self -discovery, collective liberation and realignment of social norms

The exhibition presents speculative works by nineteen poets that largely live in Berlin. Nine readings with musical elements will take place on the opening evenings to emphasize the diversity of linguistic realities.

The Dreamer's Poetry Festival will take place from May 9th to July 21st, 2024 in the gallery in the Tower at Frankfurt Tor 1 in Berlin. The opening is planned for Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is free.

More events As part of the project, the Dreamers Music and Poetry Eve on Friday, June 21, 2024, as well as the Dreamers Poetry afternoon on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Interested parties can register for the workshops for writing, illustrating and reading that will take place in May and June 2024.
