Friedrich Merz according to election bankrupt

A real drama about Friedrich Merz! The week started with a violent setback for the CDU chairman, who left angry feathers in Brandenburg. The CDU landed not only behind the SPD and the AfD, but also impressive far behind behind the BSW - only 12 percent and a catastrophic fourth place! It wasn't that bad for a long time! Nobody could surprise; Merz was already skeptical about the third east election. So he was already thinking about a quick K questioning.

"After the East elections", the motto in the Union was for a long time. But after the elections in Saxony and Thuringia were through, Merz and his competitor Markus Söder decided to accelerate the plans. First Merz should be called out leisurely and then - Zack! - represent the impending defeat against the SPD and AfD as a result of current polarization. Strategic thinking, as is common in the Adenauerhaus! The big question remains: will you also be able to implement it? Above all, Merz has to pull himself together.

The big upheaval?

In exactly a year, the Bundestag election is pending - unless the traffic light government breaks apart. On Tuesday, Merz hit the bang tremendously: with full -page ads in the big newspapers, he introduced himself in his new role as a chancellor. After the election in Brandenburg, he still had a pleasure against the weakening FDP ("Half of the Animal Welfare Party"), now a switch seems to have been made. Almost as if Merz was cheering on every morning in the mirror: "Tire yourself, Friedrich!" Will that work? The answer remains uncertain.

Merz now has a variety of political construction sites on which he could stumble. Especially with the BSW, because in Saxony and Thuringia there are coalitions between the CDU and the Wagenknecht people on the agenda. Merz finds this unbearable and has no idea how to achieve stable majorities without the WBS. A hard sample is pending when the BSW people from the CDU demand: "Either we make Putin-friendly coalition contracts, or we are withdrawing." A hot dance seems preprogrammed!

difficult questions of migration policy

for Merz it will also be delicate in the migration question. Here he is in a triple forced position! It is clear to him that he should keep the topic out of the Bundestag election campaign in order to take the wind out of its sails to the AfD. Because many in the CDU see the true core questions of the party on internal and social security! However, due to his outstanding role in the asylum duel with the Chancellor, Merz has exposed himself to the chancellor so that he can no longer withdraw. It is to be hoped that over time in the Chancellery, the Greens and the Adenauerhaus forms an insight that a shoulder closure in asylum policy would be the best for Germany.

Now it counts! Merz knows that from that moment on the license no longer only applies to him. He has to prove to the Germans that he has what it takes to become a chancellor. On Wednesday he showed how serious he is with the new tone at the ceremony for the former Chancellor Angela Merkel. Merz seemed as confident as if he was not himself, but a statesmen that was sure to dance through all the fat.
