Opening of the first gay-lesbian daycare centers in Germany at the Südkreuz in Berlin-Schöneberg
The first gay-lesbian daycare centers in Germany opened at the Südkreuz in Berlin-Schöneberg. The berlin project project in the “Life Place of Life” was originally supposed to be completed in March, but was only completed in early summer. The facilities with the names "Rosarote Tiger" and "Yellow Green Panther" look after a total of 93 children.
The concept of daycare centers is to show the children as it is to be gay or lesbian. The educators in the daycare centers should also be LSBTI personnel or have "very good knowledge of the living environments of the LSBTI ". Some of the registered children come from rainbow families themselves, while others live near the daycare centers.
The goal of the facilities is to give the children the opportunity to come out more easily later if they realize that they are not heterosexual. However, the managing director of the gay counseling Berlin, Marcel de Groot, emphasizes that the concept is otherwise the same with other daycare centers. The LSBTI*life should only be a little more visible.
The gay-lesbian daycare center met with sharp criticism at the beginning of planning, since Rüdiger Lautmann, an advocate of pedophilia, was on the board of the gay counseling. After reporting in the B.Z. Lautmann returned in October 2022.
