Review of the 2024 awards ceremony

A special honorary event took place in the foyer of the Ernst Reuter Hall on December 18, 2024, at which committed citizens were recognized for their outstanding achievements. District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner presented the awards and particularly emphasized the tireless efforts of the young people. One example is the young Emilia, who is actively involved in “no offside!” committed. Her remarkable contributions were duly acknowledged and she emerged as an inspiring example for others.

The honor also included the nomination of another volunteer who would serve as a mentor for “Kein Offseiten!” is active. In her speech, Emine Demirbüken-Wegner emphasized the importance of volunteering for the community and recalled the success of the first volunteer exchange in May, which should further strengthen the initiatives in the district. The event was part of a traditional Christmas party organized by the district office, which highlighted the value of volunteer work. According to kein-abseiten.de, such awards are not only recognition, but also a motivation for many to continue to work for the common good.

Commitment and networks in Berlin

Volunteering is an important part of the social fabric in Berlin. The State Working Group of Volunteer Agencies (LAGFA) plays a central role in supporting and networking volunteers. The organization specializes in bringing together skills and experience and offers a wide range of opportunities for engagement. Its goal is to promote democratic, appreciative coexistence and thus support the creation of a Berlin worth living in. LAGFA Berlin is committed to recognizing and strengthening civic engagement and is an essential partner for non-profit organizations, companies, politics and administration, as highlighted at lagfa.berlin.

Overall, it can be seen that voluntary work in Reinickendorf and Berlin makes a significant contribution to promoting social cohesion and improving the quality of life in the districts.
