From September 6th to 8th, 2024, Dresden transformed into a true fire brigade paradise. Because the 24th German Youth Fire Brigade Day takes place in the Saxon capital, while the German youth fire brigade celebrates its 60th birthday at the same time.

a festival for the entire community

The German Youth Fire Brigade Day 2024 is of particular importance for the youth fire brigades, but also for the entire community. The event not only has the German championships, but there are also numerous opportunities to strengthen the feeling of togetherness and to exchange information about the future of the German Youth Fire Brigade. The program is varied and invites visitors of all ages to deal with the topic of youth fire brigade.

The big opening event starts on Friday, September 6th at the Neumarkt. From 8 p.m., the approximately 500 young people from the competition groups of the youth fire brigades of Ekin Deligöz, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, and Armin Schuster, Saxon Minister of State of the Interior, will be welcomed. The event takes place in front of the impressive backdrop of the famous Frauenkirche. Afterwards there is a musical highlight and of course the physical well -being is also taken care of.

Exciting insights on the blue light mile

Saturday, September 7th, is all about the blue light mile. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Pieschener Allee folk festival site becomes a scene for all blue light organizations. With exciting stands, drones and special vehicles, the organizations offer an insight into their work and are available for questions. In addition to the blue light organizations, local clubs and facilities also participate in the festival. One of the highlights is the Mini-Panther of the Dresden Airport, which can be admired. The Dresden Monarchs also offer the opportunity to try American football, and there is a climbing module and a trampoline that invites you to romp and have fun.

The federal competition as the final

Sunday, September 8th, is the highlight of the German Youth Fire Brigade Day 2024. On this day, the German championship will take place in the German Youth Fire Brigade's Federal Competition. The participating teams have qualified in state decisions and compete against each other in a fire service with a fire service and a sporty part with a relay race. The Heinz-Steyer Stadium, which was converted and expanded especially for this event, offers an impressive setting for this competition.

The German youth fire brigade

The German youth fire brigade is an important part of the German Fire Brigade Association and represents the young people in the association. Currently, more than 350,000 children and adolescents are active in over 18,000 youth fire brigades and around 6,000 children's groups throughout Germany. In addition to the fire brigade training, young people learn from an early age, which means common sense. Values ​​such as fun, individual diversity, helpfulness, participation, appreciation, voluntary commitment and camaraderie are in the foreground.
