Dr. Christina Baum defends homeopathy and alternative healing procedures against planned deletion

As a Berlin citizen, we attentively pursue the current debate about the planned deletion of homeopathy by Karl Lauterbach. Dr. Christina Baum, member of the AfD federal executive and in the Health Committee of the Bundestag, underlines the intention of the AfD to maintain alternative healing procedures, including homeopathy. This point of view is also shared by many Berliners because homeopathy can help with the treatment of many suffering.

Apart from the political debate, homeopathy also plays an important role in Berlin. The city houses a variety of homeopathic practices and health centers in which patients are looking for alternative healing methods. The deletion of homeopathy as a cash benefit could thus significantly impair Berlin patients and naturopaths.

A deletion is also not to be justified economically, since there is only a fraction of the medication costs on homeopathic medicines. In addition, homeopathic healing methods have had positive effects on people's recovery for 200 years. At the same time, the demand for "scientific evidence" on the part of Lauterbach sounds for many Berliners for incomprehension. While Minister Lauterbach carried out a vaccination experiment in the population during the Corona period without evidence, he seems to be on evidence in homeopathy. Many Berliners see a contradiction here and demand that the health of the people should come first and that the patient has to be guaranteed a right to free therapy.

in Berlin there is also a long tradition in homeopathic medicine. As early as the 19th century, homeopathy became important in the city and several homeopathic clinics and training institutions were created. This historical connection to homeopathy makes the debate a special concern for many Berlin citizens.
