German Reading Prize 2025: Nominated worthy of outstanding commitment
A glamorous honor for the literature! The German Reading Prize 2025 goes into the next round and the nominations have been determined!
Frankfurt/Mainz, October 22, 2024. The prestigious German reading price, worth € 25,000, will be awarded for the 12th time in 2025 and brings a breath of fresh air to the world of reading promotion! This joint initiative of the Reading Foundation and the Commerzbank Foundation recognizes the remarkable projects that often work in the background in order to open the gates to an educational future for children and adolescents. Because one thing is certain: if you can read, you have the world in your hand!
The award is supported by none other than Claudia Roth, the Minister of State for Culture and Media, as well as important partners such as Arnulf Betzold GmbH, the German City Day and PWC Foundation-together they ensure that the focus is on reading support!

Astrid Kießling-Taşkın, the director of the Commerzbank Foundation, sees the large number of projects submitted as an absolute sign of commitment: "So many exciting ideas have reached us, the selection has never been so difficult! This shows how colorful and multifaceted the promotion of reading is and with which passion to promote the youngsters. It is crucial. Sharpen! ”
dr. Jörg F. Maas, General Manager of the Foundation Reading, adds: "The relevance of reading cannot be overestimated in any way!
