Waiting has an end! The Eberhard Alexander Burgh library and the Halemweg district library return with a bang! On Monday, November 4, 2024 , the doors to the treasury of knowledge will be reopened with a grandiose Festival! From 12 noon to 6 p.m. , visitors can expect a rousing program that promises a lot of surprises: with magic show, music and exciting craft workshops.

District Councilor Heike Schmitt-Melz, who will be shown twice in the festive afternoon, opened the Eberhard-Alexander-Burgh library at 1 p.m. and the district library Halemweg. An event that brings together the entire neighborhood and causes enthusiasm!

The opening times after the crisis

After a painful phase of the lack of personnel, in which the libraries were only open sporadically, there is now light at the end of the tunnel! From Friday, November 1, 2024 , the libraries return during regular opening hours that make the bookworm happy again:

  • Eberhard-Alexander-Burgh library (Rüdesheimer Straße 14)
    • Monday, Thursday: 12 noon to 4 p.m.
    • Tuesday, Friday: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • District Library Halemweg (Halemweg 18)
    • Monday, Tuesday: 12 noon to 4 p.m.
    • Thursday, Friday: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

And the best? Both libraries open on all Saturdays from 2. November 2024 to 14. December 2024 your gates! A true festival for all book lovers: Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. , mall with specialist staff and full service, but also with exciting events that bring culture to life!

District City Councilor Heike Schmitt-Melz does not miss the opportunity to thank the readers for their understanding in the difficult times: "After a difficult phase of personnel lack, I am pleased that we can now open the doors again. We thank everyone for patience. I warmly welcome them to reopen with a colorful program."
