In a shocking incident, an 84-year-old man was attacked in an elevator in Schöneberg yesterday afternoon. The senior citizen and his 80-year-old wife had to get into the elevator with an unknown young man in the Kleiststrasse building around 3:35 p.m. Suddenly the elevator stopped and the perpetrator tore a chain from the old man's neck while violently striking. The senior tried to hold on to the attacker, but the attacker hit him on the head with full force.
During the attack, the couple fell to the ground and the robber kicked the elderly man in the head and body before he fled. The 84-year-old suffered painful bruises and abrasions and was taken to hospital for inpatient treatment. While the wife did not want medical help for the time being, the police have already started an investigation. A specialist commissioner for robbery offenses is now in the process of finding the perpetrator.
