On Monday morning, a tragic traffic accident occurred in Prenzlauer Berg that claimed the life of a 91-year-old pedestrian. At around 10 a.m., a 44-year-old truck driver drove along the Prenzlauer Promenade and turned right onto Wisbyer Straße. There, the elderly woman, who was crossing the street with a walker, was hit by the tractor-trailer.
Rescue workers were quickly on the scene and provided first aid before transporting the critically injured victim to hospital. Despite intensive medical treatment, the woman died on Tuesday morning from her serious injuries. The investigation into the incident has been initiated and is ongoing at the traffic investigation service of Police Directorate 1 (North).
