Better connections: Deutsche Bahn and Telekom start mobile phone offensive

The future of traveling in Germany shines in new splendor! Deutsche Bahn and Deutsche Telekom have revolutionized mobile phone supply on the rails in a spectacular joint project. Train travelers can look forward to an almost perfect cell phone reception that makes conversations and internet connections a child's play!

After years of efforts and an impressive investment volume in the three -digit million range, the two giants have managed to achieve their ambitious goal well before the deadline. A milestone for glass covering on a whopping 7,800 kilometers of the main traffic routes! 99 percent of these routes now offer a range of at least 200 Mbit/s - that is twelve percentage points more than at the start of the cooperation!

lightning -fast network - railway mobility redefined!

For passengers on much frequented routes - i.e. those on which over 2,000 people travel every day - progress is all the more impressive: Here there was an increase in supply with 200 Mbit/s from 73 to breathtaking 94 percent! But the side routes, at least a total of 12,000 kilometers long, now have a great mobile phone reception with 100 Mbit/s in 96 percent of all cases. Who would have thought?

dr. Richard Lutz, CEO of Deutsche Bahn, cheered: "The collaboration between German Telekom and Deutscher Bahn shows: Germany is progressing in digitization! We have managed to make travelers in the Telekom network almost easily surfed and can make calls without any problems." This progress makes rail driving significantly more attractive and is another step towards digitizing the entire mobility sector.

But that's not all! Telekom has done an incredible thing: "We built a new mast every two and a half days," explains Timotheus Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom, and highlights the importance of cooperation. "Individual solutions do not work - we need strong cooperation to address the challenges!"

innovative technology ensures reception!

How do you do that? By introducing so -called mobile -permeable windows into the trains, which optimally guide the mobile phone signal inside. This new technology, in which a fine pattern is lasered into the protective metal layers of the windows, replaces the previous, cumbersome repeater. In this way, the cell phone reception is improved sustainably and efficiently. The DB is investing an impressive 50 million euros in a total of 70,000 windows for its long -distance trains!

whether on main stretches or through the most beautiful national parks in Germany, the cooperation between Deutsche Bahn and Telekom is working purposefully to further expand challenging routes. By 2026, Telekom plans to fully supply the Berlin-Rostock route, which leads through the Müritz National Park. The signs are on progress!

It is clear: digitization makes big jumps in Germany, and train trips become pleasant and comfortable than ever before. Pack your suitcases - mobile reception is now in!
