e-recipe revolutionizes health care
The introduction of the electronic recipe has a major impact on health care in Germany. Since March 2024, the digital law enables the statutory health insurance companies to integrate the e-recipe into their apps. The AOK consistently implements this innovation and now offers its 27 million insured persons the opportunity to redeem and manage the e-recipe via the "AOK Mein Leben" app.
More and more people use the advantages of the electronic recipe. According to a current evaluation of the AOK, around 70 percent of the billed drug regulations are already electronic recipes. With the integration of the e-recipe into the AOK app, the insured open up numerous useful additional functions.
The AOK My life app offers the insured a comprehensive overview of their exhibited recipes. In addition, there is the possibility to order medication directly from a pharmacy of your choice. Registration for the e-recipe service is simple: After selecting the e-recipe function, the insured enter their healthide and agree to the data transmission once. You can then search for a pharmacy near you where you want to redeem your electronic recipe. Alternatively, users can also show a code in the pharmacy with the app.
The "AOK Mein Life" app also offers an overview of all the recipes of the past 100 days. So far, this comfort was only possible via the app of the Gematik. With the integration into the AOK app, all digital services, including EPA use, are now accessible via registration. The app meets all the necessary data protection requirements and offers a secure platform for the management of the e-recipe.
The digital transformation of health care is progressing. In addition to the integration of the e-recipe, the "AOK Mein Leben" app will also provide the "EPA for everyone" from early 2025. This makes the app a central digital platform for all health services. The AOK consistently relies on innovations and improves the care of its insured.
The e-recipe can also be redeemed using the electronic health card. In addition, there is the possibility to redeem electronic recipes via the GEMATIC E-Recipe app. The electronic recipes are created by the exhibiting medical practices via their practical software and sent to the recipe service. The e-recipe is called up via the app.
The "AOK Mein Life" app is available for download in the app store and in the Google Play Store. In order to be able to use the app, at least iOS 15 or Android 8 is required as an operating system. With the integration of the e-recipe into its app, the AOK brings health care in Germany to a new level.
