World Hunger Index 2024: Challenges and solutions for the poorest
A dramatic wake -up call to the World Food Day announces itself! Welthungerhilfe lets the alarm bells ring and, together with their partners, Concern Worldwide and the Institute for Peace Security Law and Humanitarian International Law, presented the shattering World Hunger Index 2024 in the vibrant capital Berlin!
on 10. October 2024 at 10 a.m. will take place in the dbb forum Berlin , at Friedrichstraße 169, 10117 Berlin, the press conference that will show how global progress in the fight against hunger has slowed down in a dramatic way. The residents of the smoldering conflicts and the devastating influence of climate change in the past ten years are difficult to resign in the poorest countries of the world and bring countless people into serious need.

A terrifying truth: women and girls are the main victims of the inadequate nutrition and malnutrition, especially in rural areas. Tragically, it is every fourth woman who are affected and often have to fight for a lifetime. In addition, they suffer particularly strongly from extreme weather events and climate catastrophes. The call to change is clear: How can we finally get this injustice out of the world?
A top -class panel will enrich the press conference. Among the participants are Marlehn Thieme , President of Welthungerhilfe, Mathias Mogge , General Secretary of Welthungerhilfe, and the expert for the World Hunger Index, Miriam Wiemers .
