Christmas lighting on the Ku'damm again on the tilt - financing unclear.
The Christmas lights on the Kurfürstendamm and Tauentzienstraße in Berlin is on the brink again, since the financing has not yet been secured. According to AG City e.V., the costs for illumination amount to around 600,000 euros. Of these, 490,000 euros for attaching and losing weight and 95,000 euros for VAT are provided. Only 10,000 euros are on the electricity. The association received donations of 260,000 euros by the beginning of November. The complete financing must be up to November 10th. The Senate is expected to contribute 100,000 euros to the lighting, which is less than the originally agreed 50 percent of the costs. If the financing does not succeed, there is the possibility that less meters will be illuminated and dispensed with illuminated figures. AG City e.V. plans to secure future financing through the BID project (Business Improvement District). The BID law is currently amended, and only after the amendment has been completed can the lighting be financed in the long term.
