Focus on weapons: DJV and GdP require individual solutions for security
Berlin is in the turmoil! The German Hunting Association (DJV) and the union of the police (GdP) drumming for a comprehensive weapons ban against all those who keep noticing negatively. A step that could not only strengthen the feeling of security of the citizens, but also save the lives of many people!
Together, the managers of the two organizations have had the alarm bells ring in Berlin this day. Jochen Kopelke , GdP federal chairman, makes it clear: "Intensive offender represent a constant threat!" These criminals endanger our internal security and therefore have to be rigorously confronted. DJV managing director Olaf Niestroj adds: "Flat-rate prohibitions are the wrong approach! We have to find solutions for the really tested cases and leave the legal citizens alone!"
The weapons law is a patchwork!
The existing Weapons Act is a chaos from the point of view of DJV and GdP! Even legal gun owners suffer from the current regulation. Regulations are not repeatedly implemented correctly. niestroj and Kopelke require a comprehensive overhaul of the law! “It has to be easier! ”, according to the urgent appeal. Decisions about weapons need clarity - and that is exactly the lack of!
In addition, the two organizations are calling for a massive strengthening of the police! It is time for the enforcement authorities to receive the necessary support to cope with their tasks. "A law can only bring the turn if it works in reality!", Emphasizes Kopelke.
an appeal to politics!
Time is pushing! djv and gdp see urgent need for action at the political levels of the federal government and the federal states. Challenges such as knife crime or brutal acts in cities such as Mannheim and Solingen must be tackled! With a strong upswing of digital powers, the security authorities can act more quickly and more effectively - according to the vision. Kopelke : "We have to recognize if signs of radicalization are emerging!"
A call that must not be ignored! In order to protect the security of the citizens, it is essential to equip the police and judiciary well and to pull together together. Daily newspapers and the people are looking forward to the next steps in this explosive security debate!
