Public tours in Memorial Köpenicker Blood Week 2024

on April 21, 2024 at 3 p.m., on May 8, 2024 at 6 p.m. and on June 23, 2024 at 3 p.m., the next public tours will take place in the Köpenick Blood Week memorial. This was shared by Marco Brauchmann, district councilor for further training, school, culture and sport. The memorial is reminiscent of the "Köpenicker Blood Week", a wave of arrest and violent in June 1933, in which politically dissenting, Jews were abused and at least 23 people died. This event stands for the brutal conquest of power of the National Socialists, who were targeted with intimidation, torture and murder. The Köpenicker Blutwoche memorial is located in the former Köpenick district court prison in Berlin and is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free and registration is not required.

The "Köpenicker Blood Week" is a dark chapter in the history of Berlin, which illustrates the atrocities of the National Socialists during their seizure of power. The public tours in the memorial offer visitors the opportunity to learn more about this terrible event and to deal with the past. It is important that such memorials are preserved and visited in order to maintain and commemorate the victims of National Socialism.
