Obersprestraße grows: from November 2024 extensive renovation work

Attention, drivers! From November 4, 2024, Obersprestraße will be transformed into a large construction site! After years of hard stress, the damage cannot be overlooked - lane and cracks make the street dangerous and let the condition deteriorate rapidly. The district office has decided: It must now be traded to guarantee security for all road users!

The extensive repair work is carried out in several phases. This ensures clear traffic management, but also some changes in the everyday life of the residents. In the first two weeks, the northern road, the side of the BSR recycling courtyard, is completely blocked. The traffic then has to roll over the southern lane - that will be tight!

The construction phases in detail

• 1. Construction phase: 04.11. The northern road is completely closed until 20.11.2024
  Drivers have to adjust to single -lane traffic across the southern road!
• 2. Construction phase: 20.11. until 06.12.2024
  The southern road is now blocked! During this time, traffic is led over the north -sided road - here too it is converted to single lane.

But don't worry! The city has taken care of and installed a common walking and bike path on the traffic-leading side throughout the construction period. Security comes first! In order for public transport to be impaired as little as possible, a bus special lane behind the Köllnische Platz is used. The connection to the old town remains, even if the bus stop "Freystedter Weg" is temporarily transferred to Friedlander Straße - and the buses have to adjust to a new timetable.

But that's not all! The traffic routing was carefully coordinated with the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment and other important institutions. Urgent missions? No problem! Rescue vehicles have free rail throughout the entire construction period.
