Heute, am 22. Mai 2024, fand die feierliche Schlüsselübergabe für den Ergänzungsbau der Müggelheimer Grundschule in Berlin Müggelheim statt. An der Zeremonie nahmen wichtige Persönlichkeiten wie der Bezirksbürgermeister von Treptow-Köpenick, Oliver Igel, der Bezirksstadtrat für Schule und Sport, Marco Brauchmann, sowie die Senatsbaudirektorin Frau Professor Petra Kahlfeldt und Mario Bade von der Senatsverwaltung für Bildung, Jugend und Familie teil. Der Ergänzungsbau wurde bereits im Januar 2024 von den Schülern bezogen und erweitert das bestehende Schulgebäude um 216 Schulplätze. Today, on May 22, 2024, the ceremonial handover of the keys for the supplementary construction of the Müggelheim primary school in Berlin Müggelheim took place. Important personalities such as the district mayor of Treptow-Köpenick, Oliver Igel, the district councilor for school and sports, Marco Brauchmann, as well as the Senate construction director Ms. Professor Petra Kahlfeldt and Mario Bade from the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family took part in the ceremony.

The supplementary construction was already occupied by the students in January 2024 and expanded the existing school building by 216 school places. An elevator in the new building enables the barrier -free development of all floors. The Müggelheim primary school is a half -day primary school and offers modern lessons that are based on the individual needs of the students. In the school year 2024/2025, 404 pupils in 18 classes are looked after in open all -day operation.

The Senator for Education, Youth and Family, Katharina Günther-Lüsch, emphasized the importance of the new school buildings for Berlin and praised the improved learning environment, larger classrooms and additional division rooms. The modular supplementary buildings are built, taking into account contemporary educational requirements. This is also shown in Müggelheim, where the need for school places can be covered thanks to the supplementary construction.

The Senate construction director Ms. Professor Petra Kahlfeldt emphasized the importance of supplementary construction for the Müggelheim district, since the new rooms offer the children a welcome atmosphere. The district mayor and the district councilor were also pleased with the new school places and the modern equipment that enables the students to be optimally prepared for the future. The construction costs for supplementary construction amount to around 8,000,000 euros and the project is part of the Berlin school building offensive.
