Am 11. Mai 2024 wurden die Eichen auf dem Wasserspielplatz „Plansche“ am Dammweg von Nestern des Eichenprozessionsspinners befreit. Dieser Schädling kann allergische Reaktionen auslösen, daher wird Besuchern mit bekannten Allergien empfohlen, eine geeignete Körperbedeckung zu tragen oder den Spielplatz zu meiden. Trotz regelmäßiger Kontrolle und Beseitigung der Nester durch das Straßen- und Grünflächenamt besteht die Möglichkeit eines erneuten Befalls.
