Upgrading the green area Lakgrund: A new meeting point for tree nurseries
Attention, neighbors! On October 28, 2024, the Lake Grund becomes the scene of an exciting transformation! The district street and green space office lifts the green area to a new level to create a real green oasis for the community.
The west side of the Lakgrund meadow soon blooms with a brand new street ball area, which is framed by a protective ball fence! And that's not all - a specially designed boule railway will also find its place here. A cozy seating area with benches will be created for all relaxation seekers, perfect for relaxed meetings among the bushes.
diverse plants and barrier -free access
The planting list reads like a garden fairy tale: four new trees, 235 insect -friendly shrubs, around 800 ground cover and 1,000 cheerful flowering geophytes in spring! In addition, colorful perennial beds and a wild flower meadow will ensure a real color fireworks.
But that's not all! A new, barrier -free path will be created on the north side of the meadow. This side route, lined by shrubs, will lead to the allotments. The existing concrete path along the western Lakgrundwiese is sealed in order to bring nature more to the fore and offer the pedestrians a pleasant route.
The construction work implements a significant step in the planning of the funding area living centers and quarters (LZQ). With impressive 1.8 million euros from the urban development pot, this measure is funded - a real gift for tree nurseries!
Dr. Claudia Leistner, district councilor, emphasizes the importance of this redesign: "We want to develop the Lakgrund into an attractive neighborhood meeting point and resort for people in Baumschulenweg." And she is right! The newly created games and relaxation areas make this area even more inviting.
But be careful! During the construction work, the crossing of the green area will be temporarily restricted - a small price for the big change in the Lake Ground. The entire measure should be completed by the end of 2026 and the anticipation for a living, green hotspot is increasing!
