Topping -out ceremony for modular primary school with sports hall and outdoor facilities

This Wednesday the topping -out ceremony for the construction of a modular primary school with a sports hall and outdoor facilities of the Berlin school building offensive (BSO II) took place in Mitte. The elementary school is designed according to the school-pedagogical concept of the Compermannschule, in which the regular class and division rooms are grouped around a forum to enable diverse teaching and learning situations. The design comes from the architectural firm Bruno Fioretti Marquez GmbH, which was the first award winner from a realization competition for the construction of modular primary schools with sports halls.

The new school at the Reinickendorfer Straße in Mitte is built for 576 students and is being built on the site of the former Wedding health department. According to the "Standards for the new construction of schools" in the State of Berlin, the school is planned and certified with the quality level "Silver" according to the sustainable construction of the federal government. The energy -efficient new building will be equipped with rainwater use, green roof, photovoltaic systems and a recycling concept.

The Senator for Urban Development, Building and Living Christian Gaebler emphasized the importance of modern educational areas and emphasized the speed and quality of the school building. State Secretary Dr. Torsten Kühne praised the modern learning landscapes and barrier-free access of the new school, which is built according to the room concept of the Berlin learning and team houses. District City Councilor Carsten Spallek was delighted with the transformation of the former health department to a modern school.

The total costs for the new school with a sports hall and outdoor facilities amount to around 75 million euros. The general contractor Klebl GmbH from Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate will enable the modular structure and prefabrication of the components to ensure quick and sustainable implementation. The school and the sports hall are barrier-free and offer the most modern teaching and learning opportunities for the students in Mitte.
