Now available: program issue for the long week of neighborhood history!
A long -term event that is known as the "long week of neighborhood history" is currently underway and offers the residents of Berlin the opportunity to explore the history of their neighborhood in a new and interactive way. The official program booklet with a variety of events in all 12 districts of the city is now available in museums and other public institutions and can also be viewed online on the website of the Museums Tempelhof-Schöneberg.
The project organized by the Berlin Regional Museums work comprises a total of 30 different events such as city tours, discussions, bike tours and audio walks. This year's motto "City in Change" is intended to encourage visitors to explore the diverse and unconventional sides of Berlin's history. Everyone is invited to see their own neighborhood with new eyes, to learn more about neighboring districts and to exchange ideas about old and new perspectives on the constantly changing city.
A special incentive for participants is that all events of the “Long Week of Child History” are free of charge. This makes the event more accessible to many residents and interested parties and promotes participation in the various activities.
The project is also presented as part of "outdoor town", which indicates that it is embedded in a larger cultural and urban development program that celebrates the diversity and history of the city of Berlin.
