60th anniversary of the city partnership: great bike tour from Wuppertal to South Tyneside

We will only celebrate the 60th anniversary of the city partnership with Wuppertal in 2024, but this year the Wuppertal Association "The Greens Weg" with the Global Friendship Tour organized a great partnership campaign (according to a report by www.berlin.de ). The association has been running bike tours into the partner cities of Wuppertal for 25 years. In this anniversary year of the association, a memorable tour from Wuppertal to South Tyneside via Schwerin, Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Legnica, Kosice, Passau, Basel to the French St. Etienne took place, in which the "Peace message" of the Wuppertal Mayor Prof. Dr. Uwe Schneidewind was carried and signed in all partner administrations. In the period between June 14, 2023 and October 19, 2023, proud 6,606 kilometers were covered. On July 21, 2023, the reception of the cyclists from the Green Way by the deputy district mayor Matthias Steuckardt took place in the Schöneberg town hall.

The tour, in which representatives of all partner cities also took part, emphasized the connecting between all people and meant a commitment to peace and friendship between different partner cities, but also for mobility by bike.
