Telekom improves mobile phone supply in the Hildburghausen district with 5G expansion

Deutsche Telekom has improved the mobile phone supply in the Hildburghausen district. In the past two months, two locations have been expanded with 5G, which leads to a better coverage in the area and more bandwidth. The reception in buildings has also been improved. The locations are located in the municipalities of Auengrund and St. Kilian and also serve to supply along the A73 motorway.

According to Georg von Wagner, company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom, the need for bandwidth increases by around 30 percent annually. For this reason, the company is planning a further 16 locations in the Hildburghausen district until 2026 and is planning extensions with LTE or 5G on twelve existing radio masts.

In order to be able to rent new locations, Telekom needs cooperation with the municipalities or owners of space. Interested parties can contact the German radio tower that builds the mobile phone locations of Telekom.

Telekom currently operates 44 locations in the Hildburghausen district and thus reaches a budget coverage of around 96 percent. The company has more than 36,000 mobile phone locations in operation and builds around 1,500 new locations every year.
