Telekom expands mobile phone supply in the district of Görlitz

Telekom has improved mobile phone supply in the Görlitz district in the past two months. With the expansion of two locations with 5G, the cover and the bandwidth could be increased. The reception in buildings has also been significantly improved. The locations are located in the municipalities of Boxberg/O.L and Niesky. In addition, the location in Niesky also serves to supply along the A9 motorway. The locations in Boxberg/O.L and Niesky are also important for the supply along the Saxony-Ost railway lines.

"The need for bandwidth increases steadily, around 30 percent per year. That is why we continue to rely on speed when expanding mobile phone," says Georg von Wagner, press spokesman for Deutsche Telekom.

Telekom currently operates 135 locations in the Görlitz district. The budget cover is almost 100 percent. Another 58 locations are to be added by 2025. In addition, extensions with LTE or 5G are planned at 53 radio masts.
