Telekom denies Höcke's claim: No advertising slogan Everything for Germany (98)
Deutsche Telekom rejects AfD politician Björn Höcke's claim that the company previously used the slogan "Everything for Germany" and is considering legal action. The AfD's top candidate for the state elections in Thuringia made this statement in a TV duel. Telekom emphasized that this claim was false and passed the case on to its lawyers.
It turns out that the phrase in question was a forbidden slogan of the Sturmabteilung (SA), the NSDAP's paramilitary fighting organization. Due to the alleged use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke has to answer in court for using the symbols of anti-constitutional organizations. Telekom had already taken action against AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel last year after she made similar false statements about the slogan.
Höcke defended his choice of words during the TV duel and claimed that he did not know that it was an SA slogan. He described the sentence as a “common saying”. Deutsche Telekom has made it clear that Höcke and Weidel's claims are false and is considering legal action. The case will continue to attract attention as it highlights the clashes between politicians and companies over false statements.
