Tobacco loan: New approaches for health policy in Frankfurt

🔥 Alarming messages for all health -conscious people: the devastating effects of tobacco consumption not only affect throughout Germany, but also internationally with full force. Again and again it becomes clear that smoking is the premature cause of death and 127,000 people in Germany costs life annually - these are shocking 13 % of all deaths! 🚭

But there is hope! In the brand new book "Tobacco Control and Tobacco Harm Reduction", leading experts shed light on: Inside, the latest methods to combat smokers: interior quota. The discussion revolves around successful strategies for smoking cessation, looks at the model of England and is dedicated to the health consequences of the simultaneous consumption of tobacco and cannabis.

ambitious government goals!

The Federal Government has set itself an ambitious goal: the proportion of smokers: inside the population, which is currently 28 %, to push a frighteningly low 5 % by 2040! 😱 But how exactly should that happen? A simple “further” with strict behavioral guidelines will not be able to achieve this goal! The reality? Cigarette smoking remains a pressing problem of public health.

instead of innovative, risk-related alternatives such as e-cigarettes talk, health policy insists on the strict "Quit or die" approach. That means: stop or die! 🤯 An example of this is the ban on aroma for e-cigarettes liquids that should make less harmful alternatives unattractive. Instead of offering perspectives to the smokers, they are banished!

research wisdom for the future!

Prof. Dr. Stöver summarizes the crucial knowledge from the book: "Numerous research results show that consumption of non-combustible alternatives such as the e-cigarette has 95 percent fewer pollutants. This means that the success rate for quitting can be almost doubled!" It is time to focus on diversifying the smoke cessation strategies instead of just stopping. Every means should be used to help people leave the cigarettes behind. 🏆

"The health risks of smoking can only be minimized if the German health authorities clearly communicate that e-cigarettes and tobacco heaters are not harmless, but are much less harmful than conventional cigarettes," demands Prof. Dr. Stöver. A rethink in tobacco control policy is now more urgent than ever! 🔄
