in wholesale and retail in Berlin and Brandenburg will be on Friday. The Verdi union called for employees to warning strikes. Verdi calls for 13 percent more wages (at least 400 euros) and a disproportionate increase in the training allowance for a term of twelve months. Employers, on the other hand, offer only 5.1 percent more wages from September 2023 and 2.9 percent more from August 2024 as well as an inflation equalization premium of 700 euros for 2023 and 2024. The following companies are affected by the strikes on Friday: Kaufland branches and the associated warehouse in Lübbenau, Rewe branches and the warehouse in Oranienburg, Edeka branches as well as the camps in Freienbrink and Mittenwalde. In addition, Galeria, H&M Stores, Ikea-Houses, individual Thalia bookstores as well as companies in the pharmaceutical agricultural trade such as Phoenix Berlin, Alliance Healthcare Berlin, Gehe Berlin and Sanacorp Potsdam are affected.

It was still unclear whether there are any branch closures in the course of the strikes. With their strike, the employees set an example and demand improved working conditions and an appropriate remuneration.
