Strike in money transport: ver.di demands better working conditions
A storm brews itself! On Monday, September 30th, 2024, the nationwide strike in money and value transport will shake the republic! Thousands of employees will join the call of the United Service Union (ver.di) to fight for their rights and fairer working conditions. Baden-Württemberg is the only federal state spared this powerful protest!
What leads to this flaming call? The reason is the unsatisfactory situation surrounding the mantle tariff negotiations for around 10,000 employees. At the last round of negotiations on September 20, 2024, the Federal Association of German Earnings and Value Services (BDGW) presented an unacceptable offer- if you can call it that!
ver.di raises the alarm!
"The employers not only ignored our concerns, but also tightened their own demands," complains Ver.di negotiator Sonja Austermühle. The hideous plans to drastically reduce vacation days for newcomers are worrying. "It doesn't go on like this! We have to set a clear sign so that the employers present a responsible offer in the next round of negotiations," she demands with emphasis.
The demands of ver.di are clear and clear: every working hour over the eight hours a day must be remunerated with an overtime surcharge! In addition, the union requires a uniform vacation allowance and a Christmas bonus of half a gross monthly salary. A minimum claim of 31 vacation days for everyone, without reducing the existing claims, is also at the top of the agenda!
The next steps
The next round of the negotiations will take place on October 17 and 18, 2024 in Munich- a decisive moment for the future of employees in money and value transport. The alarming situation requires urgent measures, and the upcoming strike is the first step in the right direction.
Sonja Austermühle is available for questions at 0151/26737712. The union also calls on the state districts to start local actions and to clarify the public about the existing problems!
The wave of resistance rolls - should it go on like this? All eyes are directed at what is happening in Munich!
