Artist Yorgos Sapountzis is looking for participants for spectacular performance!

With great anticipation, the Kultur Steglitz-Zehlendorf department announces that for the performance of Yorgos Sapountzis on August 15, 2025 in public space around the Schwartzsche Villa ten participants) seeks. Sapountzis, who was born in Athens in 1976, is considered a visionary of interdisciplinary art and is known for its vivid appropriation of public space.

The performance that will start at 8 p.m. follows a free workshop that takes place daily from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Schwartzsche Villa from August 11 to 14, 2025. The aim of this workshop is to use body, voice and vision to create temporary performance. Interested parties do not need any special qualifications, but it is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Schwartzsche Villa as a cultural center

The Schwartzsche Villa, which was built by Bankier Carl Schwartz in 1895, has developed into an important cultural site in Steglitz in 1995. The villa houses various cultural events, including exhibitions of contemporary art, classic concerts, readings and children's theater.
