Moving sounds: Artist Dávid Somló transforms Hermann-Ehrens-Platz

On September 25th and 27th, 2024, the Hungarian artist Dávid Somló will present his impressive “Drift” performance on Hermann-Ehrens-Platz in Berlin-Steglitz. This performance offers a unique opportunity to experience the space through the lens of art and movement.

SOMLó is known for his work in the field of movement and sound installations, which research the beauty of everyday movements in urban areas. At “Drift”, fifteen local performers are the focus, which are equipped with hidden speakers. They move across the square in an approximately 40-minute choreography. Initially, the performers behave inconspicuously, almost like ordinary passers. But over time, the sounds and movements show the viewers the structured processes of the performance. The result is a visual and acoustically impressive finale that invites you to discover Hermann-Ehrens-Platz from a completely new perspective.

Details about the event

The performance begins at 6 p.m. on both days, and admission is free, which represents a great opportunity for art enthusiasts and passers -by alike, to take part in an extraordinary experience. Visitors are invited to go on a sensual journey in which the boundaries between art and everyday life blur.

Hermann-Ehles-Platz is located in the 12165 Berlin-Steglitz, and will develop a scene of interaction and creative during these two evenings. This event is not only a performance, but also an experiment that redesigns the perception of space and movement.
