SenasGiva finances new specialist advice center against domestic violence in Spandau

A recent press release from the Eulalia Headingness Women's Center revealed that the need for advice on domestic violence in the Spandau district was not sufficiently covered. After many years of effort and increasing number of consulting requests, the financing by the Senas Giva was finally promised. This opens up the 6th specialist advice and intervention center against domestic violence in Berlin near Eulalia Equin. In addition, the International Education and Consulting Center for Women- Hînbûn is financed another position for migrants affected by violence. These measures were urgently necessary because the rate of cases of domestic violence in Spandau is 40.1 percent above the Berlin average.

In the past ten years, the women's center has intensively fought for improving advisory resources. Initiatives such as the Spandau network against gender -specific violence were created to raise awareness of the topic and to offer a contact point affected. Despite these efforts, the need for advice remained high. Therefore, the promise of funding by the Senas Giva was an important success for the organizations in Spandau.

In addition, new offers such as a range of perpetrators and the “Stop - districts without partner power” have been launched in recent years in order to prevent preventive against domestic violence. The cooperation between the Spandau district office, various organizations and the violence council has played an important role.

The recent commitment to financing by the Senas Giva is a step in the right direction.
