An exciting competition for the new meeting center on Westerwaldstrasse in Berlin-Falkenhagener Feld has finally chosen its winners! The jury, which gathered on October 17, 2024, chose the best designs. But what do the residents expect from this spectacular new building?

The task was anything but easy: multifunctionality and inviting green areas should form the heart of the new building. A district center, offers for seniors and space for the popular youth theater workshop are to be accommodated on the property where the refuge church was once stood. An ambitious goal that the city tackles - supported by the urban development program "Sustainable Renewal".

Ten talented teams from architecture and landscape architecture offices competed against each other. The jury, under the direction of the renowned architect Dr. Brigitte Holz, discuss until the evening. After several rounds, the best designs were finally announced. The creativity was huge, but only the best ideas could prevail!

The first place went to the Sehw Architecture GmbH team from Berlin together with the Danish Sted - A Part of Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects A/S. The jury primarily praised the "convincing urban planning conception" and the inviting living areas. This could be the new heart of Falkenhagener Feld!

A lucrative reward is waiting for the winners: 1. Price : € 63,000 for building construction and € 12,000 for the outdoor facilities! So you are the big winners! But other teams were not forgotten either:

  • 2. Price: € 37,000 building construction, € 7,000 free facilities - Anne Lampen Architects BDA, Berlin with guest landscape architects Bdla.
  • 3. Price: 24,000 € building construction, € 4,500 free facilities - Aff Architects, Berlin with Planstadt Senner GmbH.
  • Recognition: 6,000 € building construction, € 1,500 free facilities - Bez + Kock Architects General Planner, Stuttgart with St Rauma. Landscape architecture.

The public will have the opportunity to admire all competitive contributions: An exhibition will open on November 7, 2024 and is accessible in the Falkenhagen Feld clubhouse until December 5, 2024. An event that you shouldn't miss!

The plans for the new meeting center are in full swing and could become reality in 2025. Negotiations with the award winners will soon begin - so it will be excited to see what these impressive heads for Falkenhagener Feld have in store!
