Back pain: tips for strengthening and prevention in our region

Germany has a huge back problem! Back pain is among the common diseases and almost every third person insured by law is presented with the doctor every year. But the reality looks even more dramatic: A brand new survey on behalf of the AOK federal association shows that immense 81 percent of the 1501 respondents had to struggle with back pain at least once last year!

The numbers speak for themselves: back pain is omnipresent! Dr. Carola Reimann, CEO of the AOK federal association, explains: "Back disorders are widespread in Germany." But hardly anyone actually does anything about it. Knowing that targeted movement and risk factors avoidance are the key to a healthy back, a picture of passivity is shown.

risk factors in sight

The population of risk factors is particularly worrying! An impressive majority of 93 percent recognizes that obesity can be dangerous for the back. Most are also aware of one -sided seating positions and sitting in front of screens for a long time. 72 percent of those surveyed know that this harms their back health. But what use is the whole thing without the implementation?

The challenges of everyday life seem to be more serious: only 38 percent of people actively take care of their back health. 41 percent have good resolutions, but do not put them into practice! Another reason: the omnipresent time shortage and the dreaded inner bastard that needs to be overcome.

The solution: AOK's new campaign

The AOK does not let those affected down! With her new campaign "Back? Make him stronger!" the health fund has developed a contemporary module, the "AOK back trainer". Here people can learn free of charge on the Internet how they can strengthen their backs through simple and effective exercises - without any expensive devices. Six video sequences are offered that enable users to play movement into their everyday life in a playful way!

Surveys show that movement is the key: 59 percent of those surveyed who are regularly active were able to relieve their back pain or even remove it! Back exercises and heat applications have also achieved a positive effect. But will it be enough to mobilize the width?

A note for interested parties: At www.aok.de/pp/bv you will find all the important information and results of the survey. In a country where 81 percent of people suffer from back pain, it is high time for a change! If you don't move, you have already lost!
