A special life story was celebrated in Reinickendorf when Joachim Franke from Frohnau committed his 100th birthday. On May 27, he was visited by district mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner, who congratulated him on behalf of the district office. Joachim Franke was moved into the army at the age of 17 and had to have had serious experiences in the war. But after the end of the war he devoted himself to forestry and worked as a forester near chorin for many years. He never found the loneliness of the forest as stressful because he grew up as a single child and was used to circling alone. When he was visited by the church, he met his current partner, with whom he masters everyday life.
Despite his age, Joachim Franke has remained mentally fit and likes to read historical novels. Music is also one of his passions, especially hit and folk music. His life in the forest and dealing with trees obviously good and enabled him with a healthy lifestyle.
